My Story - Owner Alta McCarthy
From a young age, I always knew my calling. At just ten years old, I would gather wildflowers from the fields behind my parents' home and sell them to neighbors—small bunches for 10 cents and larger ones for 25. Since those early entrepreneurial days, I have evolved significantly, and I can confidently say that I truly LOVE what I do!
For over 45 years, I have passionately immersed myself in the floral industry, dedicating the last 15+ years exclusively to weddings and events. My journey began in 1980 as a floral designer for a large local florist in central Massachusetts, and in the mid-’90s, I opened my first floral shop. After relocating to Florida in 2004, I continued to develop my skills in floral design. Once settled in Tampa, I worked for several shops, but the desire to own my own business again led me to establish Alta Fleura, Wedding & Events Florist, in the Tampa Bay Area in 2008.
Since then, we have been honored to create wedding flowers for over a thousand couples, crafting thousands of stunning bridal bouquets and custom floral arrangements for weddings, dance recitals, proms, corporate events, and private celebrations.
Our unwavering goal is to exceed our clients’ expectations by providing the highest quality flowers and exceptional service for every wedding and event.
